Meme Image Sizes and Formats: PNG, JPG and GIF
Choose the right image format and understand the limits of static PNG exports.
PNG for crisp text
PNG is a strong default for memes with large lettering, outlines and flat colors.
JPG for photographs
JPG can reduce file size for photographic images, but compression may soften text edges.
GIF and animation
A static canvas export does not preserve GIF animation. A PNG export should be treated as a still image.
Check final dimensions
Use safe margins and check how the target platform resizes or compresses images.
Open the meme maker
Choose a template or upload your own image, add top and bottom text, and export a crisp PNG. Your image is processed in your browser.
